What a match. What a win. Here are three points from yet another victory for Atlanta United. (Quick reminder, too, to subscribe to us on YouTube if you haven’t already)

Xande Silva: good

How about this first touch to open the scoring:

The thing is that I have a feeling that we haven’t yet seen Xande Silva at his best. As he continues to build chemistry with his attacking corps, the loanee from Dijon may work himself into being purchased outright.

Thiago Almada: still good

This is not surprising. Thiago Almada is making a vigorous MVP case for himself. He had a goal and two assists tonight and currently leads MLS with 13 assists. His goal gives him nine on the year.

Ajax had better pull up the Brinks truck for him.

Vibes: good

It’s obviously way too early to make any proclamations about the rest of the season, but go ahead and buy some stock in Atlanta United while you still can. If you squinted, it looked a bit like 2018 all over again, and it just as easily could have been 6-0 if not for the woodwork getting in the way.

It’ll need to be at its best against an FC Cincinnati team that’s currently in the Supporters’ Shield lead and smoked NYCFC on Saturday — and if it wins on Wednesday, this might truly be a group to watch down the stretch.
