Atlanta United’s preseason is coming in heavy at this point, as the squad landed in Tampa, Florida Tuesday and played a 120-minute friendly vs CF Montreal on Wednesday. The scrimmage ended twenty minutes before Scarves and Spikes went live, so there was plenty of footy to chat about along with the latest news, rumors, and – of course – the interview with Tyler Wolff!
The guys kicked off the showing chatting about Atlanta United’s trip to Athens to face off against Memphis 901 before pivoting to the match vs CF Montreal. Fittingly, Tyler Wolff scored in the match with a bomb from somewhere out on I-75 in Tampa to net the Five Stripe’s second goal of the game. Tyler, Tommy, and Sydney chatted with the young winger about his season goals, what it’s like having such a huge soccer family, and his golfing acumen – and a bit of Atlanta history involving other “Wolf” men was revealed.
Another popular topic was the Atlanta Hawks’ “leak” of the new Atlanta United away kit, which is set to be officially revealed on February 17th. If you watched the show last week with Aiden McFadden, you’ll know we also shared some photos of AI generated kits based on the leaked info we had at the time. The real colors are close – predominantly blue with gold accent – and the shirt features a tribal phoenix. It’s a crisp, clean kit, and here’s hoping its record is much better than that of the Forest Kit. Check it out and plenty more on the episode above!
