Atlanta’s own SweetWater Brewing Company was announced on Feb. 20 as an Official Craft Beer Partner of the Five Stripes, according to a club press release.
SweetWater partnered with Mercedes-Benz Stadium in early May 2023 to open two bars on the 100 and 300 levels of the venue. This new partnership brings a third bar – this time on the 200 level – to Atlanta United’s home along with many watch parties planned at its taphouse throughout the season.
“We’re thrilled to partner with a proud Atlanta company like SweetWater,” said Garth Lagerwey, President and CEO of Atlanta United in the press release. “Atlanta is one of the premier soccer cities in North America, and this partnership is an example of how the city has embraced our club and continues to drive us forward. In addition to SweetWater expanding its presence inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, we’re also excited for our supporters to bring their passion directly to their favorite local brewery for Atlanta United watch parties during away matches.”
Five Stripe fans will get their first taste of this partnership at the club’s Block Party at SweetWater Brewery before the season opener against Columbus Crew on Saturday. Tickets for the event are on sale now. General admission is full, but you can still purchase a bundle with access to the block party and a ticket to the home opener (which is a deal, regardless).
