Atlanta United 1-2 Minnesota United: Community player ratings

Ugh. Not the night Atlanta United fans were hoping for after coming into Saturday’s match against Minnesota United. Instead of getting back in the win column at home, they gave up goals six minutes apart to Kervin Arriaga and an in-form Tani Oluwaseyi to eventually fall 2-1 and see their winless streak reach five.

Due in part to the quick turnaround between Saturday’s match and the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 match against the Charlotte Independence in Kennesaw, we’re going to put the staff player ratings on hold and give you the community player ratings. While they naturally represent overall fan sentiment around the loss, there were some underlying themes.

Man of the Match: Bartosz Slisz – 6.11

Again, the midfielder was your player of the match as he’s quietly proven to be a solid signing for the front office. Atlanta have been looking for a solid No. 6 to command the midfield since the departure of Darlington Nagbe, and while Slisz isn’t a like-for-like player (in fairness, he never was going to be considering Nagbe’s standings), he’s done well.

New Coach and 2-3 player changes and we might be good.

Robpar

I gave Pineda a 3 ‘cause he had to watch and endure the whole game.

Mic

Generous score on Pineda.

“Instead of getting back in the win column on the road, ”

I might be misreading this somehow but I think it’s meant to say at home

JosefBetterThanCarlos

I love when that happens
