Atlanta United’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to yet another phenomenal event, this time for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The Benz is listed as one of 11 venues for the new version of the tournament, adding to it’s already growing list of high profile soccer matches prior to the 2026 World Cup.

The massive tournament will run from June 15 to July 13, 2025, and will now feature 32 clubs from the six international soccer confederations: AFC, CAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA, and our beloved Concacaf. With the changes in the format, this Club World Cup will now be the largest club football event ever staged.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium has already hosted both the U.S. Men and Women’s national teams, Lionel Messi and Argentina, a variety of Premier League and Liga MX clubs, and many others in the past year alone. With the addition of U.S. Soccer’s new training ground and headquarters just a few miles from the stadium, Atlanta’s prominence as a hub for the beautiful game is only growing. For their part, Atlanta’s Sports Council and various city organizations have partnered with Arthur Blank’s AMBSE organization to promote the venue as a one of a kind experience for sporting and entertainment events. There are rumors swirling of Atlanta hosting the 2028 Super Bowl, but they already have the aforementioned 2026 World Cup and 2031 NCAA Final Four locked down. The World Cup in 2026 is expected to eclipse any sporting event in history in terms of size, scope, and revenue.

“Mercedes-Benz Stadium has quickly become known for hosting the biggest soccer matches in the U.S., and we are excited to add the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to the roster,” says Doug Roberts, vice-president stadium events and premium sales. “We are proud to have the opportunity bring global audiences to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in such a meaningful way ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”

The draw for the 2025 Club World Cup will occur in December, and fans will then learn the matches and dates shortly thereafter.

“Being named a host city for FIFA’s Club World Cup in 2025 is yet another great accomplishment for our city,” said Dan Corso, President, Atlanta Sports Council and Atlanta World Cup Host Committee. “Our region continues to build its reputation as a global destination for international soccer events and this will be a great way to celebrate being one-year out from hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
