Atlanta United vs. CF Montreal: Three takeaways

Atlanta United’s playoff hopes are all but over, thanks to a familiar face. After Daniel Rios canceled out Josef Martinez’s opener, the former Atlanta striker responded in the second half for his second brace in as many matches as CF Montreal defeated Atlanta 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. At the absolute minimum, Atlanta must sweep their next two matches against the New York Red Bulls at home and at red-hot Orlando City, and even if that happens, they’ll need plenty of help from other teams to even have a shot at the ninth and final playoff spot in the East.

Sydney, Tyler, and Tommy were on hand inside the Mercedes-Benz press box and gave their three takeaways from Wednesday’s match.

Kudos to you guys for trying to write something about our club. The reality is most has been already said and not much more to be said. Decided not to attend the last couple of home matches and so far it seems like the right decision.

Is the season over yet?

Clueless Joe

My takeaway is if Josef could play a full season only against us, he’d be league MVP.

Other than that, I didn’t learn anything from this game I didn’t already know.
