Atlanta United’s 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls in their regular season home finale ensured they remained alive for a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs heading into Decision Day on October 19. Alexey Miranchuk converted a penalty with less than 15 minutes remaining and Tyler Wolff sealed it in second-half stoppage time for Atlanta’s first home win since July. Atlanta now needs a win over Orlando City to close out the season, along with help from other teams in the Eastern Conference.
