| ATL UTD 2 to play five preseason friendlies ahead of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season |
With preseason fully underway for the senior side, Atlanta United 2 announced their 2025 preseason schedule.
The 2s will host 5 matches at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, Georgia as they prepare for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. This is a completely rebuilt 2s side with a wave of new signings announced last week. The 2s could also include our two 2025 SuperDraft picks and a handful of academy prospects preparing for their first college season and vying for opportunities at the professional level. Ronan Wynne has already impressed with the senior team this preseason, scoring Atlanta United’s first and only goal of the preseason against Chattanooga.
The 2s will kick off their preseason with a morning friendly against Life University (yes, that is a real place) on February 1st.
The team will host USL League One’s Tormenta FC on February 8th for a midafternoon matchup. Tormenta are a tough team from Statesboro, Georgia who will want to make a statement against their in-state rivals.
For Valentine’s Day, the 2s will welcome Georgia Gwinnett College, a local school with several ties to the organization including Jack Gurr, Toni Tiente, and academy products Adeola Oke, Miguel Gonzalez, Dagoberto Romero, the Hermenegildo brothers, Aldo Campos, and Evan Alvarez.
On the 22nd, the 2s face off against Remi Okunlola and the Atlantic Coast Conference powerhouse Clemson University for another midafternoon match. Clemson also has a lot of connections to Atlanta United including academy products Charlie Asensio, James Brighton, Mike Ille, Okunlola, and Mathieu Brick. Atlanta United’s U-19 prospect Seamus Streelman is currently committed to joining Clemson in the Fall.
The 2s close their preseason on March 1 against Birmingham Legion FC at 2 p.m. This is a strong Birmingham team that will have already tested Atlanta United’s first team in its second preseason match on February 1st.

Are these games open to the public?
I’m not sure. I haven’t seen any options for public attendance or streaming so far.
