The Five Stripes wrap up their time at IMG Academy this afternoon with a match against fellow MLS opponent FC Cincinnati, with kickoff set for noon. This will be the final match Atlanta United will play in Bradenton before moving operations back to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, where they’ll face FC Dallas this upcoming Saturday.
Saturday’s meeting with the New England Revolution saw a mostly first choice squad show their potential firepower, cruising to a 2-0 victory with goals from Jamal Thiare and Mateusz Klich. With only two friendlies remaining before the Feburary 22nd season opener against CF Montreal, this is valuable time for Ronny Deila and the rest of the managerial staff to observe the implementation of their system against MLS opposistion. The first lineup was able to go nearly 70 minutes last match, and could see more as fitness levels continue to increase.

Hard to see but looks like at least three consecutive one-touch passes to spring Saba into space. More of that please, and less trap, look, and pass.
Beautiful play. Lovely. Magnificent. Perfect example of how we think Alexy’s potential can be maximized in this system with the players he has. But how about the pass thru the legs, perfectly weighted for Saba to run in behind and finish it off. Great run and finish form Saba too.
