Pump the brakes, it’s not the worst thing in the world! Atlanta United announced on Monday that Latte Lath has been placed in concussion protocol stemming from the 38th minute pay-per-view wrestling event that happened at the Benz on Saturday. There was a coming together between Latte Lath, Brad Guzan, and a Red Bull player in which Atlanta’s star attacker took the absolute worst of the three, straight to his head.
Latte Lath was checked both on-field and off-field and cleared at the time. He was then subbed off early in the second half, however, presumably because of one of those sneaky concussion symptoms that don’t reveal themselves until later, and placed into concussion protocol shortly after the game. The protocol for head injuries lasts five days, so assuming the best, he should still be set to play on Sunday against Inter Miami and possibly Lionel Messi.
When the incident happened, Brad Guzan went up to punch away a ball from a Red Bull’s attacker. Latte Lath also went up for the ball and it appeared that the big, bald wall committed unintentional friendly fire. The replay doesn’t quite make it clear, but it actually seems Latte Lath got struck by the opposition’s elbow on the way down. Either way, it’s simply “one of those things” that happens in soccer and thankfully it doesn’t appear to require anything beyond the normal concussion formalities.
Here’s hoping there are no lingering issues and Manu will be right back at it – with a few more goals to his name – on Sunday at 7.

I’d love to see Cayman step up and show what he is capable of if LL can’t play.
hopefully Thiare will be back this week if Latte can’t get cleared
Please be okay. I’m gonna be so tired if you can’t play… (Sorry for the terrible joke)
