Atlanta United vs FC Dallas: Match Thread and How to Watch

It’s showtime in the Benz once again tonight as Atlanta United (2-2-2, 11th in East) welcomes FC Dallas (3-2-1, 7th in West) to town in the second of three consecutive home matches.

That homestand kicked off last weekend with a thriller against NYCFC, as the Five Stripes overcame a 3-1 deficit in the second half to win 4-3. Each Designated Player for Atlanta played a hand in the high scoring affair, and the focal point came with a tactical switch that moved Alexey Miranchuk deeper into the midfield with Miguel Almiron shifting from the wings to the center of the pitch, which was followed by a barrage of goals, and most importantly, three points.

It’s given manager Ronny Deila much to think about as he plans his starting lineup for tonight’s match, helped in no part by an availability report that shows both Pedro Amador and Derrick Williams out, and Miranchuk questionable to play.

FC Dallas, led by newly signed Lucho Acosta (a name that seems to always torment Atlanta United), are coming in hot after winning their last two matches against Sporting KC and Real Salt Lake. Partnering Acosta with striker Petar Musa, who averaged a goal every other match last season, Dallas threatens in attack. Will an Atlanta defense further hamstrung with injuries be able to hold them off, or will the attack be called to compensate once again?

Kickoff from Mercedes-Benz Stadium is once again set for a 7:40 PM ET start, with streaming coming from Apple TV with a subscription to MLS Season Pass. Radio coverage is provided in English on 92.9 The Game and in Spanish on La Mejor.

Plus side, we made them earn that goal. We got a lot of great chances.
Downside, we need to get more clinical chances.

Also, Tristan put in an amazing performance as the 6, and Abram actually put in a crucial tackle.

Another wasted dominant first half. Ten minutes of weakness in the second half turned sour. Very middling

Tie is better than losing, but man I wish we can put out our preferred 11 more than half the season…

Some positives. Saba and Lennon have great connection. Tristan Muyumba and Slitz has been very solid this game pressing and disrupting the attack (though Tristan he is getting tired). Love their positioning in all phases and especially Muyumbaโ€™s vision for the through ball.

Some more work is needed, but I think this could be a winning combo for us!

Manโ€ฆ overall this is a ping pong match. I feel we have lost the momentum second half and Iโ€™m concerned this favors FC Dallas. Shouldnโ€™t be this way at home. Vamos ATL!!! Get some energy and dig deep.

Why is that not a yellow? Grabbing the ball from the PK spot?

WHY ARE WE IN AWAY KIT AT HOME???

schyoo

we are in our secondary kit, not away kit. There is only primary and secondary kit in soccer, and the occasional alternate kit.

VAMOS ATLANTA

Why why WHY the resurgence kit!
