Atlanta United’s availability report for Saturday’s Leagues Cup match against Pumas featured a new name: Pedro Amador. The left back has suffered a hamstring injury and “will be re-assessed in two weeks”, according to the club.
Amador went in for a standing tackle against a Necaxa player just before the eighth minute of Wednesday’s match. He appeared to favor his left leg momentarily before continuing, but about 20 seconds later began to feel at his left leg again. Amador ultimately played 64 minutes in a 3-1 loss, but it’s not entirely clear that Wednesday’s sequence of events ultimately led to him being ruled out for the next couple of weeks at minimum.
Without Amador in the lineup, Atlanta would presumably turn to Dominik Chong Qui. The 17-year-old Homegrown, who was available for selection on Wednesday, has spent most of the 2025 season with ATL UTD 2, where he has totaled 10 appearances with 9 starts. He received his first MLS start on March 29 after Amador was forced to leave pregame warmups after an injury. Ronny Deila could also opt to start Ronald Hernandez at left back and return Brooks Lennon to the XI.
Other than Jay Fortune, who’s out for the season, Matt Edwards is the only other injury as he is dealing with his own hamstring and should be back in about 4 weeks.

so now we have no depth at fullback…would it be better to switch to a 3 CB and have Brennen or Saba play LWB? not that our CB depth is any better after getting rid of our two young guys and buying out Abram
3-5-2
williams — gregerson — mihaj
saba — slisz — miggy — muyumba — hernandez
thiare — miranchuk
well when we previous ran 3-5-2, Almiron was next to Thiare/Latte and Miranchuk was between Slisz and Muyumba
I know, but this is the season of “throw S at the wall and see what sticks” so why not try it? Even the broadcaster the other night was mentioned how Miranchuk seems to fit better as a SS than a 10 so why not give it a go?
And actually, swap out Hernandez for Brennen.
