We made it, y’all. The utterly disastrous season that was Atlanta United’s 2025 is finally a wrap as the Five Stripes draw against D.C. United 1-1 on Decision Day. Most importantly, though, fans got to watch as Brad Guzan put a bow on his legendary 21 year career. Here are the final whistle thoughts from Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the last time in 2025.
Brad Guzan
The offseason is long and will certainly be busy, and we’ll have plenty of coverage of everything that goes down. At the moment, though, let’s just give Guzan one final round of virtual applause. The big man looked as spry as a spring chicken between the sticks, notching two brilliant saves (one offside) during the first half. He continued to show out in the second half, stopping a Christian Benteke hit before the unblockable rebound was sent in to equalize for D.C.
Ultimately, this game was all about Brad anyway. The result was pointless, unless you’re one of those sickos who truly cares about the wooden spoon. It was just really nice to see him out there one last time, regardless of how the game itself played out. This season was just a blip, but the memories of Guzan in an Atlanta United shirt will last a lifetime.

A cynical person might say, we even failed at winning the wooden spoon.
Hahaha, jk.
It was a well deserved season. Glad they didn’t give up on Delia
