Atlanta United 2 has expanded their roster this morning with the addition of two young defenders, Mohamed Cisset and Matthew Senanou. Each joins with a year of experience at the MLS NEXT Pro level after being selected in the 2025 Superdraft. Cisset, 21 years old, played most recently with North Texas SC (FC Dallas’s affiliate), while 22 year old Senanou joins the 2s after a season with Colorado Rapids 2.
“Momo” Cisset hails originally from Montréal (A young player from Montréal joining Atlanta? Crazy, I know.) and was drafted by Dallas with the 71st overall pick following time at Penn State and at Montverde Academy in Florida. A left footed center back, Cisset represents Mali at the international level, and was a part of Mali’s U23 squad at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Cisset made 22 total appearances for North Texas last season, scoring one goal and helping the squad making the playoffs, where they fell to San Jose’s affiliate, The Town FC. His option was not picked up after the conclusion of the season.
Matthew “Kofi” Senanou was chosen sixth overall in the 2025 Superdraft after a successful college career helping the North Carolina Tarheels to two NCAA tournament appearances before his two years at Xavier, where he helped the Musketeers capture a Big East Conference championship. A 6′-4″ center back, Senanou made fifteen starts with the Rapids affiliate, helping the team to a third place finish in the Western Conference, and appeared three times off the bench in a playoff run to the MLS NEXT Pro Final, where they fell to RBNY II. The Plainfield, Illinois native had his option declined at the end of the 2025 season, and joins as a free agent.
Both Cisset and Senanou are signed to a one year contract with a one year club option for the 2027 season.

Midfielders (3): Cameron Dunbar, Ignacio Suarez-Couri, Moises Tablante
Forwards (3): Liam Butts, Arif Kovac, Patrick Weah

so…if i squint hard enough i see that we basically swapped a first team defender in cobb for a second team defender in senanou along with some garber bucks. at least tata is here finally righting the ship!
so the 2s now have enough to run a full team with one GK sub hahaha.
Unless they run the 2nd GK as an outfield player; would suck to be the guy who gets benched then
