The USMNT’s March roster is out, and we now know the 27 players that will train in Atlanta beginning March 22 before friendlies against Belgium (March 28) and Portugal (March 31).

Looking at the roster, there are no major surprises. The mainstays are there: Christian Pulisic, Chris Richards, Jedi Robinson, and Tim Ream among them. The only name that could draw the most reaction is Gio Reyna, as the 23-year-old hopes to impress Mauricio Pochettino and land a spot in the World Cup.

Pochettino has referred to the two Atlanta friendlies — plus the Continental Clasico against Senegal in Charlotte (May 31) and the send-off match against Germany in Chicago (May 31) — as World Cup matches in and of themselves. That said, the March camp will be his last time at the collective group before the final 23-man roster is announced on May 26.

“We have spent the last 18 months developing the player pool so we can be prepared to make the correct decisions for the World Cup roster, and this is another valuable opportunity,” the USMNT head coach said. “We must treat these games like they are a part of the World Cup, and what is most important is that the players bring the right mentality and commitment to the group.”
