Player ratings after Atlanta’s 3-1 loss to the Crew

First off, sorry for the late release of the Atlanta United-Columbus Crew player ratings. It’s always tough to do these after a loss like this because you have to really dig in to think about who Atlanta’s top performer was. To be honest, outside of maybe one or two players, no one truly covered themselves with glory. That’s especially true of the first half, which was as lifeless as I’ve seen at the Benz since covering the team. And that’s saying something.

The bottom line is that it might not get much better for a while. The core of this roster is broken, the DPs aren’t performing, and any positive momentum shown vanishes as quickly as it appears. The most frustrating part? Atlanta’s lack of results at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which was once practically impenetrable. As fearful it was to face Atlanta United during its first few years of existence, it’s anything but in 2026.

On to the player ratings. As a reminder, here’s the ratings scale:

  • 10 – world-class performance
  • 9 – elite performance
  • 6 – average
  • 5 – slightly below average
  • 3 – well below average
  • 1 – poor in every level

Rating scale is wrong which is why the staff is consistently higher. There should be higher expectations set for DP and higher salaries. Miranchuk is the only player that that should be higher than a 3.

Jampantz

Indeed

Bruce Kolofske

I don’t see how Lath even gets a 4. He provided virtually nothing in this match, and is on track to be in the running for biggest DP bust of all time.

Angry Rodent II

I’m not sure whomever may still be here from the scouting department, but if there are any from the Lagerway regime, they should be fired into orbit. Talent evaluation has been abysmal.

Captain Zero

ELL with the CR of 2.1!!! Is that a record? Anyway, glad I didn’t watch, I knew there was trouble ahead.

Mic

Not much else to say when your “player of the game” is rated in the 5s.

Mia San Atl

Also curious how much of Tata’s rating is inflated by taking on the Crew staff.

allen

And that rating is solely for the goal – because for the rest of the match he (along with several others) was essentially invisible.
