Emmanuel Latte Lath’s days with Atlanta United could be nearing their end.
Latte Lath wasn’t in Atlanta’s lineup for its match against Charlotte FC on Wednesday night and wasn’t on the injury report. Chris Henderson told Mike Conti and Jason Longshore on 92-9 The Game before the match that “conversations” about Latte Lath were in progress, but wouldn’t elaborate further.
“We’re having a few conversations around him, and so out of precaution we’ve kept him out of this game,” Henderson said. “That’s about the extent of what I’m going to say about it at the moment.”
An Atlanta United spokesperson confirmed to Scarves and Spikes that “discussions with other teams” were ongoing but had no additional information.
Should a deal materialize, it would bring to an end one of the most disappointing Designated Player tenures in MLS history. Latte Lath was acquired for a then-MLS-record $22 million in February 2025. He got off to a quick start, scoring five goals in his first six matches. Since then, he has managed just three goals and three assists in 39 appearances. In 2026, he has collected 2g/2a in 14 appearances (10 starts).
Tata Martino hinted at a possible move to the right wing for Latte Lath, with the 27-year-old playing there and creating an assist in a friendly against Sporting Kansas City. Martino added that whether Latte Lath or Miranchuk started up top or played on the wing would depend on the opponent. That was a few days after Latte Lath was a late substitute in Friday’s 1-0 loss to Nashville SC.
But it looks like that’s the last we’ll see of Latte Lath in an Atlanta kit, as it appears he is on the verge of an exit from the club he’s called home for nearly 18 months.
