Well, the news cycle certainly blew up following Atlanta United’s 2-2 draw in Charlotte on Wednesday. The absence of Latte Lath kicked off a whirlwind of a few days with rumors and player moves abound. The Five Stripes still have games to play, though, as they continue with the third of four consecutive road games tonight up in Foxborough.
Atlanta was able to complete a comeback after conceding two goals to Charlotte FC in the first half, scoring twice through Elias Baez and Miguel Almiron to end the match 2-2. Now, a new challenge awaits in a top four in the East side, the New England Revolution.

Which jumps out to you more: the four match losing streak against the Revs or the one single win all time on the road against them? Tough to say, but one thing we can rest on is the fact that things are not promising for Atlanta United here. New England came into the Benz back in April and left with a 2-1 win despite an attacking onslaught from Atlanta, who outshot the Revolution 23-7. Yikes.
As if the mountain to climb looked tall enough already, Atlanta are still somewhat shorthanded with roster depth as they enter their third match in nine days. Jay Fortune and Sergio Santos are still sidelined from injury, Tomas Jacob is suspended due to his late yellow card on Wednesday, and Paulo Diaz is still working out his visa process. Latte Lath and Steven Alzate, as well as Pedro Amador, have all been rumored to have suitors elsewhere in the transfer market, and may or may not be available depending on their situations.
The three MLS Next Pro players on short-term agreements, namely Arif Kovac, Toto Majub, and Ignacio Suarez-Couri, will remain with the squad through this match. Suarez-Couri made his first team debut towards the end of the match in Charlotte, while the others will be looking to make theirs in New England tonight.
There will certainly be some heavy legs up in the northeast this evening, but can Atlanta United continue their second half performance from Wednesday into the match here?
