Andrew Jardines is officially a professional soccer player.

After a strong summer with Atlanta United 2, U-19 Academy midfielder Andrew Jardines signed his first professional contract with Atlanta United 2 through the end of the 2027-2028 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Jardines has been a bright spot in an already-intriguing and exciting 2s team full of young talent. The 18-year-old midfielder can play a variety of roles in the middle of the pitch, but excels in making incisive passes into dangerous parts of the field. Across 10 starts (in 14 matches), Jardines has an 88% pass completion percentage with 442 successful passes. With just 963 minutes of actual playing time, that is a successful pass every 2.2 minutes of play.

As our friend Xylph shared after the June 13th match against Chattanooga FC, this young man is surging in momentum right now, and Atlanta United did the right thing to reward him with a chance to continue his development with the club.

Jardines joined Atlanta United Academy’s U-18 team in August 2024 from UFA, a local youth club that has produced a lot of regional talent. This group defeated the Inter Milan U-18s in the 2025 Generation Adidas Cup and capped off his academy career with 20 goal contributions in 2026. He made his 2s debut against Orlando City B on May 10th and hasn’t slowed down since then.

Join us in congratulating Andrew Jardines on his special day. We look forward to covering his growth as an Atlanta United player.
