Scarves and Spikes was introduced following the success of our start-up Twitter Spaces show that we host (and still run) on Dirty South Soccer‘s social media. The show brought a mixture of our news and commentary following Atlanta United matches, while giving fans a speaker to voice their own opinions in the style of a call-in radio show – with more freedom.
We wanted to keep that fan engagement and decided to launch a podcast prior to the 2023 MLS season, focusing on bringing great guests and notable insight – with supporter commentary in our live shows – into the club that we cover every single day. Our weekly (and sometimes twice-weekly) show provides match recaps and previews by bringing in insiders, players, and commentators from Major League Soccer and the world over, including visits from Andrew Gutman, Taylor Twellman, Kevin Egan, DJ EU, Mike Conti, Jason Longshore, Jessica Charman, Jake Zivin, Keith Costigan, and many others.
We also host a Patreon where we provide more in-depth analysis with other soccer insiders, match watch-alongs, merchandise discounts, and other benefits for anyone wanting to join and support in that way, too!
