Preseason play concludes for Atlanta United this afternoon as the Five Stripes host FC Dallas at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, Georgia. This will be the final friendly on the schedule before Atlanta hosts CF Montreal on Saturday, February 22nd for the home opener on MLS is Back weekend.
Both sides will play three 45-minute periods as part of their last tune-ups in preparation for the regular season in order to ensure that “everyone gets a lot of playing time”, according to Ronny Deila. Unlike Wednesday’s live stream cancellation against FC Cincinnati, today’s noon kickoff will be shown on atlutd.com/live as well as the team’s YouTube channel. Radio coverage will also be available through 92.9 The Game.
Also unlike Wednesday, Atlanta United will face Lucho Acosta after his recent transfer from Cincinnati to FC Dallas just days ago. This will also be the first chance to see Latte Lath join the Atlanta squad, after he received his visa and joined training on Thursday. He’ll pair up with the likes of Miguel Almiron, Alexey Miranchuk, and Saba Lobjanidze as the chemistry between attacking players continues to form. Ideally, every player on the gameday roster should have plenty of time to show off their preseason progress within the two plus hours of action.
