Kyndra de St. Aubin on Atlanta United homestand: “This has to be nine points”

Atlanta United return to Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday to face New York City FC, kicking off three straight matches at home.

Right now, things aren’t clicking for Atlanta as hoped: it’s winless in its last three and have collected just five points out of a possible 15. For a club with massive ambition and a massive payroll, that’s not good enough.

So what’s the expectation for Atlanta headed into this stretch of games?

“This, to me, has to be nine points for Atlanta United, unless there are some earth-shattering things that we didn’t forsee with an injury, an absence, some reason why one of your best players or most important players isn’t available,” MLS Season Pass analyst Kyndra de St. Aubin, who will be on commentary with Tyler Terens, told us on the Scarves and Spikes podcast on Wednesday.

With a $22 million striker in Latte Lath — coupled with the return of Miguel Almiron and last year’s signing of Alexey Miranchuk — Atlanta can’t let this opportunity escape their grasp, de St. Aubin said.

“You have to capitalize on this moment. And that’s what I would focus on,” she said. “You’ve got too much talent on this team.”

Yeah… this won’t be 9 points, but hopefully 7

Clueless Joe

ELL is on pace for 27 goals this year; he’s been as advertised so far. The only other guy to score has been Mosquera. We need a few others to step up.

Angry Rodent II

Abso-fucking-lutely!! It’s an absolute joke that Lath has all but one to the team’s goals.
