FIFA’s annual September match window is upon us, so that means the next time we’ll see Atlanta United on the pitch will be September 13 against the Columbus Crew at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
That doesn’t mean Atlanta United players won’t be in action, though. Atlanta will see nine players from their first-team roster playing during the break. The biggest matches will be in South America, as Miguel Almiron and Paraguay can clinch a first World Cup appearance since 2010 while Ronald Hernandez and Venezuela can punch their ticket to the tournament for the first-ever time. Meanwhile, Saba Lobjanidze (Georgia) and Bartosz Slisz (Poland) continue in UEFA World Cup qualifying.
Here’s how to watch and stream Atlanta United players during the international break:
Miguel Almiron, Paraguay
Thursday, Sept. 4 vs. Ecuador, 7:30 p.m. ET | Fanatiz
Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Peru, 7:30 p.m. ET | Fanatiz
With two matches to go, Almiron and Paraguay are fifth on the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table and are assured at least a spot in March’s inter-confederation playoff. A draw in their remaining two matches means that they’ll secure a top-six finish and a first World Cup appearance in 16 years.
Ronald Hernandez, Venezuela
Thursday, Sept. 4 at Argentina, 7:30 p.m. ET | Universo
Tuesday, Sept. 9 vs. Colombia, 7:30 p.m. ET | Fanatiz
Venezuela, who have never qualified for a World Cup, sits in CONMEBOL’s play-off spot in seventh place. That’s not to say that they’re home and dry. Far from it, in fact. La Vinotinto travels to El Monumental on Thursday to face Argentina (who has long secured a spot in the World Cup and will finish atop the table) before taking on yet-to-qualify Colombia, who missed out on the 2022 tournament, on Tuesday. This could come down to the wire.
Saba Lobjanidze, Georgia
Thursday, Sept. 4 vs. Türkiye, noon ET | FS2, FOXSports.com, ViX
Sunday, Sept. 7 vs. Bulgaria, 9 a.m. ET | FS1, FOXSports.com
While CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying comes to an end this window, it’s just begun for several UEFA countries, like Saba’s Georgia side. They’re in Group E, which contains Türkiye, Bulgaria, and Spain. With the Spanish set to be a runaway favorite, Georgia (seeking their first World Cup as a sovereign nation) will hope to finish second and claim the group’s inter-confederation play-off spot.
Bartosz Slisz, Poland
Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Netherlands, 2:45 p.m. ET | Fubo, ViX
Sunday, Sept. 7 vs. Finland, 2:45 p.m. ET | Fox Soccer Plus
Poland, placed with Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Malta in Group G in UEFA qualifying, took down Lithuania and Malta in March before falling to Finland in June. This window will feature their first contest against the Netherlands (they’re level on points, but the Dutch are in second on goal differential) before a return fixture against Finland on Sunday.
Alexey Miranchuk, Russia
Thursday, Sept. 4 vs. Jordan, 1 p.m. ET | No U.S. stream listed
Sunday, Sept. 7 at Qatar, 11:15 a.m. ET | No U.S. stream listed
Russia remain banned from UEFA qualifying, but they have a couple of friendlies scheduled for this window. They’ll face Jordan in Thursday in the first meeting between the two countries before heading to Qatar on Sunday for just their fourth overall encounter.
Jayden Hibbert, Canada
Friday, Sept. 5 at Romania, 2 p.m. ET | Fubo, ViX
Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Wales, 2:45 p.m. ET | No U.S. stream listed
Hibbert’s strong form has caught the attention of Jesse Marsch, who has called him into a pair of friendlies across the Atlantic against Romania (their first meeting) and Wales (for the fourth time and first since 2004). It’s all about Marsch prepping his roster for 2026, so hopefully Hibbert can eventually secure a spot as the third keeper behind Dayne St. Clair and Maxime Crepeau.
Cooper Sanchez, United States U-17
Friday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 8 vs. the Netherlands U-17
Sanchez will join the U-17s in the Netherlands for a pair of friendlies against the Dutch.
Dominik Chong Qui, United States U-19
Chong Qui will spend the international break in the Atlanta area, as he’s down in Fayetteville with Rob Valentino and the U-19s.
Luke Brennan, United States U-20
Friday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 7 vs. Morocco U-20 (in Spain)
Brennan, who should be with the U-20s for the World Cup in a few weeks, is in Spain for a training camp and a pair of friendlies against Morocco.

OK, United. Now’s your chance. Get back to what made you great!
