Moments before it faced Türkiye at SoFi Stadium in its final match of Group D, the United States men’s national team learned who it will face when it opens the knockout round on Wednesday night at Levi’s Stadium.
The USMNT, who have already won the group will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, just the fourth all-time match between the two countries. That’s because the Netherlands defeated Tunisia 3-1 in Kansas City earlier in the evening, while other results on Thursday paved the way to a USMNT-Bosnia meeting in Santa Clara.

The U.S. leads the all-time series 2-0-1, winning 4-3 in 2013 in Sarajevo before drawing 0-0 in 2018 and winning 1-0 in 2021, with both games in Carson, California.
Before playing Bosnia in the Round of 32, the USMNT’s objective is to come out of a meaningless match against Türkiye. Christian Pulisic is available for selection but didn’t start. Tyler Adams, Folarin Balogun, Chris Richards, and Jedi Robinson all picked up yellows in the two previous group stage matches and are not among the starters as Mauricio Pochettino opted for a fully-rotated XI.
