Groups A, B, and C finished up group stage play on Wednesday, meaning it’s Groups D, E, and F’s turn on Thursday. The United States and Germany already have won their respective groups and can roll out a second-choice lineup in preparation for the Round of 32, but there’s still a lot to be decided elsewhere.

Group D advancement scenarios
The United States and Tรผrkiye already know their fates: the USMNT has won Group D and Tรผrkiye is eliminated from knockout stage contention. That means Australia and Paraguay, minus Miguel Almiron, will play for second, with Australia securing passage with a win or draw. Paraguay can claim second with a win.

Group E advancement scenarios
Germany knows it has won Group E regardless of its result against Ecuador. Ecuador can do no better than third, which it will capture with a win and see itself to the Round of 32.
Ivory Coast are second with a result against Curaรงao. Curaรงao can make the knockout stage if it beats Ivory Coast and if Ecuador drops points against Germany. If it ends up in the running for a third-place spot, it faces slim odds.

Group F advancement scenarios
We know that Tunisia are already eliminated from Round of 32 contention. It faces the Netherlands, who win Group F with a win and dropped points for Japan against Sweden. Or, if the Dutch win and Japan wins outright against Sweden, the Dutch win the group if it maintains its tiebreaker advantage over Japan. There are plenty more permutations to finish at least second, but the most straightforward path is winning.
A win for Sweden against Japan means the Swedes finish at least second, and they’d win the group if the Netherlands also drop points against Tunisia.
Japan can advance with a win or draw against Sweden, and win the group as well if the Dutch drop points. If both Japan and the Netherlands win or draw, Japan will need to finish ahead on tiebreak to take the group. A Japan draw and a Dutch loss also hands the group to the Samurai Blue. If Japan loses, it could still come in second if it holds a tiebreak over the Dutch if they lose their match.

We will/should sit everyone on a yellow card versus Turkey, which likely means Miles Robinson will get a chance to play in a WC game. Good for him, hope he does well if he gets on the pitch.
Going to guess that Pulisic starts and plays maybe 60 mins to shake off the rust prior to the knockout stage. Saw last night that he says he feels 100%.
