Tristan Muyumba continued his red-hot form on Wednesday night, scoring his third goal in as many matches as Atlanta United defeated Minnesota United 2-1 for their first two-game winning streak since May.

After scoring two goals in his previous 81 regular-season appearances, Muyumba has now scored three in three matches. His latest one, in the 78th minute, saw him take Alexey Miranchuk’s pass inside the box, push forward, and finish past Minnesota goalkeeper Drake Callender to put Atlanta up for good.

Atlanta opened the scoring in the 36th minute through a tremendous right-footed strike by Tomas Jácob, which found the far post past a diving Callender on what could be a possible MLS Goal of the Week candidate.

Minnesota, though, tied things up in the 58th minute. A free kick was caromed off the crossbar before Anthony Markanich got just enough of it on a header to push it past the line and make it 1-1.

That set up Muyumba’s winner, securing a second straight win for Atlanta. Their last two-game winning streak came on April 25 and May 2 as they beat Toronto FC 2-1 on the road before a 3-1 home win over CF Montréal on May 2.

Atlanta United returns home on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET to take on Sporting Kansas City, which played St. Louis City to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
