A total of 12 Atlanta United players are on international duty during the June 2025 FIFA international window. While the obvious hope is that no one gets hurt, there’s also hope that time away with their countries could spark Atlanta players with the back half of the MLS season still to go. And there’s added importance for some of these players due to World Cup qualifying namely in CONMEBOL, Concacaf, and UEFA.

Here’s a look at how each Atlanta United player is doing during their time away:

Luis Abram (Peru)

Abram — who entered in the 87th injured for the injured Carlos Zambrano — and La Bicolor were outshot 15-4 and outpossessed 70-30 on Friday night, but had the match’s only shot on goal. He didn’t play on Tuesday in a 0-0 home draw against Ecuador. Peru are now 6 points outside of CONMEBOL’s spot in the inter-confederation play-off with 2 matches remaining.

Miguel Almiron (Paraguay)

Almiron started and played 89 minutes in a 2-0 win over Uruguay on June 5. Despite only 30 percent of possession, Paraguay held a 12-5 advantage in shots with a 5-1 edge on shots on target. Almiron was lifted after 86 minutes in La Albirroja‘s 1-0 loss to Brazil that saw Carlo Ancelotti’s side punch their ticket to the World Cup. Paraguay is still in good shape: it’s 5th on the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table with 2 matches to go — the top 6 qualify

Jay Fortune (Trinidad and Tobago)

Fortune found the back of the net in the 85th minute for the Soca Warriors, who (as expected) had no issues with St. Kitts and Nevis on Friday in a 6-2 win. Coincidentally, Fortune’s first international goal came against St. Kitts in the 2023 Gold Cup.

Despite a 2-1 loss to Costa Rica on Tuesday, TnT clinched a spot in the 3rd round of qualifying. Fortune started and played the entire match.

Latte Lath (Ivory Coast)

No CAF World Cup qualifying matches in this window, so Latte Lath and the Ivory Coast were in Toronto for a pair of friendlies against New Zealand and Canada. Latte Lath ended up playing 53 minutes in a 1-0 loss to New Zealand to kick off the 2-match stretch, then entered in the 76th minute of a 0-0 draw against Canada before scored in a penalty shootout that Ivory Coast won 5-4.

Saba Lobjanidze (Georgia)

Georgia don’t start its World Cup qualifying quest until September, so it has a pair of friendlies this window against the Faroe Islands (a 1-0 win on Thursday) and Cape Verde (1-1 Sunday). Saba got the start and played all 90 minutes of Thursday’s win before scoring on Sunday.

Efrain Morales (Bolivia)

Back to CONMEBOL qualifying, where Bolivia are 1 point from an inter-confederation play-off place after a 2-0 loss to Josef Martinez and Venezuela on Friday and a 2-0 win over Chile on Tuesday, a match that ended with 10 men a side. Morales started and played all 90 minutes on both nights.

Bartosz Slisz (Poland)

Hopping back across the pond to check on Slisz, who scored in the 88th minute for Poland — from well beyond the box, of course — in a 2-0 friendly win over Moldova:

Poland, though, fell to Finland 2-1 on Tuesday for their first loss through 3 matches of the UEFA World Cup qualifying cycle. Slisz started and went the distance in a match that saw Finland keeper Lukas Hradecky make 9 saves.

Luke Brennan, Noah Cobb (U.S. U-20s)

Brennan and Cobb are in Cairo after being called into Marko Mitkovic’s side for a pair of friendlies against Colombia (Saturday) and Egypt (Tuesday).

Dominik Chong Qui, Braden Dunham, Kaiden Moore (U.S. U-18s)

Chong Qui, Dunham, and Moore are with the U.S. U-18s at the Friendship Cup in Switzerland. They drew France 2-2 on June 1 before winning a penalty shootout (5-4), before victories against Argentina on Wednesday (2-0), Australia on Saturday (3-2) and Portugal on Tuesday (1-1; 3-2 pen.) to win the tournament.

Wednesday’s match featured this nice header from Dunham:

Academy player Santiago Pita is also with the U-18s and scored against Australia. Pita, Dunham, and Chong Qui all scored in the penalty shootout against Portugal.

We have a match tomorrow. Yay.

schyoo

we had so many guys play yesterday, so I am curious who will be available tomorrow. I can’t imagine Almiron, Slisz, Morales, or Fortune be available tomorrow since they all basically played the whole match yesterday. Latte played about 14 min plus PK as a sub yesterday, so he may be available. Don’t really know about Brennan and Cobb because the U20 played yesterday as well, but I can’t find any information regarding who played in the match. No matter how we look at it, we will be pretty thin.

This will be a true makeshift lineup – not optimistic about the outcome (hope I am wrong)!

you need to re-embed the video for Fortune’s goal unless you don’t have a video of his goal

thanks for correcting the video!
