Atlanta United will participate in the first-ever Torneo de Tejas tournament, co-hosted by FC Dallas and the Houston Dynamo, as part of their 2026 preseason schedule.

Atlanta will open the tournament against the Houston Dynamo on Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. ET at Shell Energy Stadium. The two teams met in the MLS regular season from 2017 to 2019 and then once again in 2024. In fact, Atlanta’s last trip to Shell Energy Stadium was for the 2018 season opener.

Four days later, Atlanta travels to Frisco to face Red Bull New York at Toyota Stadium. RBNY, of course, will enter the 2026 season under the guidance of Michael Bradley after the firing of Sandro Schwarz. Along with Emil Forsberg and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, the Red Bulls roster will feature Cade Cowell, who returns to MLS on loan from Chivas. Atlanta hosts the Red Bulls on Aug. 15 during the regular season before travelling to Harrison for Decision Day on Nov. 7.

Atlanta will remain in the Metroplex for a match against FC Dallas on Valentine’s Day. FC Dallas slipped into the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2025, Eric Quill’s first season, by finishing seventh in the Western Conference. However, they were swept in two games by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the first round.
