Atlanta United’s on-field struggles haven’t done much to affect its valuation.
According to a Tuesday report from Sportico, the club is worth $1.14 billion, making it the fourth-most valuable in MLS. That’s a 6 percent increase from its $1.08 billion valuation a year ago.
Atlanta is one of five MLS clubs that have surpassed the billion-dollar mark. Inter Miami, fueled by the presence of Lionel Messi, is worth $1.45 billion, up 22% from a year ago. In fact, it’s the largest year-to-year jump among the league’s 30 clubs. The Herons surpassed LAFC for the top spot but just barely, with LAFC worth $1.4 billion (a 9% increase). The LA Galaxy in third ($1.17 billion, up 5%) and NYCFC in fifth ($1.12 billion, up 12%) round out the top five.
Since Sportico began publishing MLS club valuations in 2021, Atlanta United has never ranked outside the top five. It was initially ranked No. 2, but slipped to No. 3 in 2022. In 2024, it climbed back to No. 2 before moving to No. 4 the next year.
All told, MLS clubs are worth a total of $30 billion, with each club bringing in about $83 million each or $2.5 billion total, according to Sportico.
As for Sportico’s list of the world’s most valuable clubs, that usually comes out in May, with Atlanta ranking No. 19 globally in 2025 — down slightly from No. 17 in 2024.

The new secondary kit looks really nice. Probably my favorite kit.
I wish they had taken the green stripe down the back though. The back is so plain.
I wonder what the valuation is based on. Certainly not wins or competency.
