New England Revolution 4, Atlanta United 1
Well, that sucked.
Like a horrible hangover, Atlanta United fans are waking up with the foggy memories of a complete and utter dismantling at the hands of the New England Revolution, 4-1 up in Foxborough.
The Five Stripes gave up four goals in the first two thirds of the match, only answering with Miguel Almiron finishing off a team goal with the result well out of reach in the 85th minute. Atlanta now owns sole possession of the last place spot in the entire league. Fun!
Once again in this matchup, midfielder Carles Gil was too much for Atlanta to handle. With a goal and two secondary assists, Gil was the catalyst for his Revolution side. Really, though, New England outclassed this Atlanta squad from top to bottom. More transfer rumors are sure to be on the way as Atlanta United continues to try to evolve their way out of a major, major slump. Keep an eye out here for news regarding the transfers of Latte Lath, Steven Alzate, or any moves for new players over the next week before Atlanta’s next match, the last in the road trip up in Philadelphia, a matchup of the bottom two sides in the East.
