There’s no denying it- there’s still a long uphill battle for Atlanta United, as shown over the past weekend where a 4-1 loss to the New England Revolution dropped the Five Stripes into last in the league.

Picking our collective heads up here, what else happened over the weekend in MLS? Columbus overcame a 9th minute goal to defeat FC Cincinnati 2-1 in Hell is Real, while the Houton Dynamo left no doubt in their rivalry matchup, beating Austin FC 3-0. Timo Werner had a late chance to win the California Clasico for the San Jose Earthquakes with a stoppage time penalty, but was denied by the Galaxy’s JT Marcinkowski.
Inter Miami picked up a 1-0 win in Montreal, but the result was overshadowed by a terrifying head injury to Germán Berterame, who was rushed off the pitch to the hospital via ambulance after a collision with former Atlanta defender Efraín Morales. Down in Orlando, Antoine Griezmann’s Lions earn a massive result, picking up three points over Nashville SC with a 1-0 win.
LAFC keep rolling as the most in-form team in the league, winning a fourth straight match by defeating Kansas City 4-0, and have scored three or more goals in every match since the World Cup break. Meanwhile, the Seattle Sounders have fallen hard, losing for the fifth consecutive time after falling to a bottom dwelling Philadelphia Union side (who may be on the come up now with two wins in a row?).
