Atlanta United hung with the New England Revolution for about 70 minutes. Ultimately, though, the bottom fell out as they lost 2-0 behind goals from Dor Turgeman and Leo Campana. Atlanta next heads to LAFC, where Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-min are in blistering form. Fun times!

The rant was dead-on-balls accurate, to borrow a term of measurement from Marissa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny. And I think I just realized for the first time that Deila hasn’t once this season accepted any level of responsibility for the game result or the season’s outcome. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Regardless, I’m just done with the guy. He can throw out all the excuses he wants, but they’re just that. Excuses. I genuinely believe the right coach would have had no issues making a roster like this work just fine – if not as a cup contenders, at least as one that makes the playoffs. We kept mostly the good parts from 2024 and added massive upgrades at several positions. And yet, those good parts have all gotten worse and the very expensive new talent looks like it’s their first day with a soccer ball. Actually, ELL looks like it’s his first day with legs.
