Bartosz Slisz has been transferred to Danish first-division side Brøndby, Atlanta United officially announced Thursday morning. Though the transfer fee is undisclosed, reports state that it is around €3 million.
Slisz was a steady performer during what was a tough couple of years for Atlanta, a player whose passion and effort could never be questioned. His brightest moment came in Round One of the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs as he scored what turned out to be the match-winner in Game 3 against heavily-favored Inter Miami.
Slisz’s departure marks the first outgoing transfer of the offseason for Atlanta United. Not only has the club opened up a decent amount of budget space (Slisz was on a salary of $870,000), but it receives some much-needed GAM as it looks to fill other areas of need on its roster.
Meanwhile, for Slisz, it’s a move back to Europe as he enters what could be a significant year for him. He’ll be part of the Polish international team as it looks to secure a trip to the World Cup through UEFA’s qualifying play-off this spring.

I’m gonna miss him. I think that he could have been very good for us, but he sadly never had a consistent partner in the midfield. Good luck Bartek.
Is it me or does this team have a consistent history of moving on from good to potentially great players while not getting rid of the ones that are awful?
well, it is easier to sell a decent player than a bad player. you can only buyout so many player every season
Our history is limited, but also a bit chaotic. They realized this and have tried to right the ship…it may take a bit though as they hoped Ronny would work out and that didn’t happen. And it was clear in 2025 that there was little chemistry. Until we can figure out the chemistry, there will continue to be chaos. Look at teams like Seattle and Philly…they’ve figured out the chemistry piece.
